About John
John has worked at Waitrose for 15 years and has been their spirits buyer for the last 9 years, growing the gin category to be the biggest single section within the Waitrose spirits portfolio, delivering retail sales of £48.5m in 2022.
He continues to champion small suppliers within the category, most recently Isle of Barra gin who launched in March 2023.
John has been a supporter for the gin industry and has led the way in the retail space, backing craft as well as the established brands and always at the forefront of innovation.
