Speakers announced for Ginposium 2016
27th May, 2021
Some of the world’s leading experts from the gin and drinks trade will share their vast knowledge and expertise on the spirit, at the third annual Ginposium seminar, organised by industry body The Gin Guild.
The one day event, held on the 12th of May at Covent Garden’s London Transport Museum, will host 11 exciting speakers, who will take to the stage to cover a range of topics such as: how to launch and market a new product, the importance of bottle design, UK and EU legislation and the effect of different botanical fixatives.
Nicholas Cook, Director General of The Gin Guild, said:
As an industry body, it is key for The Gin Guild to lead discussion and to keep the trade up to date with what is happening in the market.
“The annual Ginposium seminar is a fantastic event as it brings together like-minded individuals to share their expertise on all things gin and is now an established favourite in the industry calendar.”
Speakers at the event include: The Gin Guild’s Grand Rectifier, Martin Riley, who will open the event; Emma Hibbert, Head of Corporate Affairs at Adnams; Robert Furse, UKTI food and drink sector specialist; Bernard Gormley, Co-Founder of Nude Design; Professor Katherine Smart of SAB Miller plc and the Institute of Brewing & Distilling; Dr Anne Brock of Bermondsey Distillery and Miles Beale from the Wines & Spirits Trade Association.
Joining them will be Joanne Moore of G & J Greenalls, whose session will look at the importance of gin’s ABV, and chef Valentine Warner, of BBC’s ‘What to Eat Now’ and Hepple gin, who will talk about food pairing with gin.
Those attending will also enjoy three tutored gin tastings, one demonstrating the influences of different base spirits on gin, hosted by Mark Gamble of Union Distillery and two run by gin competition judge and independent journalist David T Smith of SummerFruitCup.com, who will cover Terroir and Innovation.
After the event, delegates are invited to join The Distillers City Debate, hosted and presented by the Worshipful Company of Distillers (one of London’s historic livery companies), which this year will discuss craft spirits and their influence on the market.
Tickets for Ginposium 2016 are priced at £79 plus VAT for Gin Guild members and £99 plus VAT for non members, and can be purchased by visiting www.ginposium.com.
The Gin Guild, a non profit making gin industry funded body, aims to promote and encourage a commitment to excellence in gin distillation and industry custodianship of the spirit category. Members include distillers, marketing directors, bartenders, brand managers, writers and journalists.
